How you'll help

Program 1:

Wishgranting

A gift of hope during the toughest of times

A Starlight Wish is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for a seriously ill child to have their very own dream come true. The impact is life changing, giving a sick child something fun to look forward to and creating lasting family memories. With travel impacted this year, in 2021 we will have more Starlight Wishes to grant than in any other year.

Program 2:

Healthier Futures Initiative

Supporting Indigenous children in remote communities

Starlight's Healthier Futures Initiative is an innovative partnership with clinical teams focusing on the detection & early treatment of chronic health conditions in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children. Captain Starlight's vital role supports a more positive healthcare experience, helping to increase participation and improve clinic efficiency.

Program 3:

Livewire

Supporting adolescent mental health

60% of teenagers with a chronic health condition experience mental health concerns. Ongoing social isolation during this time has amplified this concern, as social connection plays a critical role in adolescent development. The Livewire program provides these young people vital opportunities for social connection, creative expression and personal development.
